EFR certification (or an acceptable equivalent) is a prerequisite for anyone wishing to take the Rescue Diver or Divemaster course. This is a non diving course conducted on land. It takes one day and comprises of watching a training film, reading the manual, practical exercises and a short written test. The basics of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (heart massage and mouth-to-mouth), as well as basic first aid techniques are learned.
